Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Devon AI ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website, desktop application, and paid plans (the "Service"). We are committed to keeping your data minimal and private.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account data: email address and authentication details when you sign up for a paid plan.
  • Billing data: processed by our payment provider, Paddle. We receive transaction metadata (e.g. plan, country, last four digits) but never your full card number.
  • Support data: messages you send us.

Information from using the Service

  • Chat & prompt data (hosted models only): the messages and code you send to a hosted model are processed to generate responses.
  • Usage & device data: basic logs such as IP address, browser type, and feature usage to operate and secure the Service.

Local-first by default: when you run the free desktop app with your own API key, your code and prompts go directly to your chosen model provider and are not sent to us.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • To process payments and manage your subscription;
  • To respond to support requests;
  • To detect, prevent, and address security or technical issues;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing & subprocessors

When you use a hosted model, your prompts are sent to third-party model providers (such as OpenAI, xAI, and Anthropic) solely to generate responses. We do not use your private code or prompts to train models without your explicit consent.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, including:

  • Paddle — payment processing and merchant-of-record services;
  • Model providers (OpenAI, xAI, Anthropic) — to process hosted-model requests;
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting and analytics;
  • Authorities, where required by law.

5. Data retention

We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as required for legal and accounting purposes. You can request deletion of your account data at any time.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@devonai.xyz.

7. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies and local storage (for example, to remember your theme preference and keep you signed in). We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
